A History of TiE Boston
From 1997 to the Present
25 Years of Entrepreneurial Excellence
On May 7, 2022, TiE Boston celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala at the Renaissance Hotel in Boston’s Seaport District! We were so pleased to celebrate this milestone with our members and supporters in an evening of inspiration with the original founders of TiE Boston and such luminaries as keynote speaker Ray Stata.
TiE Boston thanks the business leaders and trailblazers who have made us one of the region’s largest organizations supporting the Massachusetts entrepreneurial ecosystem and connecting entrepreneurs, executives, and venture capitalists.
From a simple networking idea 25 years ago, TiE Boston today is leading the startup ecosystem with its signature programs such as TiE Boston Angels, TiE ScaleUp, TiE Young Entrepreneurs and TiE Women.
TiE Boston Founders
Since 2012, TiE Boston has recognized entrepreneurs who have gone above and beyond in their fields.

25 Years of Programs & Initiatives
TiE ScaleUp is New England's first and only seed+ to Series A accelerator. The program serves startup founders by providing each admitted company with curated mentorship from industry veterans, an advanced scaling curriculum, access to funders, an active alumni community of startup veterans, and a lifelong connection to TiE’s esteemed global professional network. ScaleUp takes no equity and specializes in helping early stage, funded companies overcome their unique barriers to rapid scaling while on the path to their next capital raise. Over 100 startups have participated in the ScaleUp program – collectively they have raised over $250+ million with five exits.
