Praveen Tailam

Praveen Tailam epitomizes TiE. Joining the organization as a young member in 1999 to a charter member to leading TiE Angels in 2011 to the president of the Boston chapter in 2016 to becoming the chairman of TiE Global Board of Trustees in 2021.
Praveen is an entrepreneur, investor, business advisor, speaker, mentor, and philanthropist.Praveen consistently invests, advises and mentors startups, speaks at conferences, and judges business plan competitions at various universities and incubators. Praveen believes TiE has the responsibility to work towards gender parity in business environments and focus on women led businesses. Praveen is a technologist by training and started out building consulting practice and currently in the dental services healthcare business. In the past, he has managed enterprise-scale messaging systems for companies in the technology, banking, and insurance sectors, including IBM, Putnam Investments, and Wellpoint BCBS.
Praveen holds a Masters's Degree in Information Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelors's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University. He enjoys music and travel and is an avid golfer, cricketer, and squash player. A resident of the greater Boston area for 27 years and lives with his wife and two children.
